Origin
Commander X2 is Marvin's counterpart from the 2003 animated series Duck Dodgers, itself inspired by the 1953 Merrie Melodies short "Duck Dodgers in the 24½th Century". In said show, Commander X2 is the commander of the Martian military as well as Duck Dodgers' arch enemy. He is in love with the Martian Queen (Queen Tyr'ahnee), whom he serves without question. Despite their many battles, he considers Duck Dodgers to be more of a nuisance than an actual enemy.

Trivia
- Cake, Evil Morty, and Commander X2 are currently the only "Substitute" Variants so far to have a Variant of their own, with the Variant in this case being Galactic Romance Marvin the Martian.
- Prior to the Season 2.02 Patch, a glitch was causing Commander X2's render to not show up on his tag.
- Commander X2 is erroneously referred to as Marvin X2 on Marvin the Martian's promotional poster.

- Despite being a "Substitute" Variant for Marvin the Martian, Commander X2 doesn't have a unique set of voice lines.
