Official Biography

Website

Heroic Mogwai Warrior

When Gizmo heard that his malevolent off-spring Stripe had been pulled into the battle for the Multiverse, he followed immediately to stop him. Gizmo has always been a hero: Whether it was helping save Kingston Falls, averting the disaster at the Clamp Center, or any of the other adventures from his (surprisingly long) life, he has always been an unlikely protector of the innocent. With his box of tricks and mystical singing, he’s sure to throw a wrench in the works.[3]

In-Game

Heroic Mogwai Warrior. Adorableness Incarnate.

Gizmo loves sharing his toys and helping his friends on the battlefield. He especially loves finding ways to mess up the other team's plans!

Default Variant

Gizmo's default look is largely based on his depiction from the original Gremlins movie duology, with a few tweaks here-and-there to match with his new design from the Max original Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai animated series.

    • * Fixed an issue where Gizmo would get multiple jumps in air while charging an arrow
    • ~ Adjusted jump height during arrow charge to better match his normal jump heights.

    • ~ Increased attach radius to 575 units from 250 units; Gizmo should have an easier time snapping to his car or his allies without needing to precisely aim the attack

1.02 Patch

Gizmo’s maneuverability and size make him incredibly difficult to pin down. His movement combined with his incredibly strong zoning game make it nearly impossible for some characters to ever get the edge against him. These changes should help bring Gizmo’s evasiveness more in line with the cast so it’s easier for other characters to get up close and punish.

    • – Dodge branch window delayed 10 frames
    • – Prevents terrain bounce on knockback
  • Air/Ground Neutral Attack
    • – On-whiff branch window delayed 8 frames

  • ! Ground Down Special:
    • Fixed a bug that was causing Gizmo's box to render some of the time

Trivia

  • While Gizmo was officially first teased on September 1st, 2022, he was accidently name-dropped by Player First Games CEO and CoFounder Tony Huynh in an interview two weeks prior to the aforementioned teaser.[4]
  • Gizmo was listed as a "Support/Ranged" Fighter on his promotional poster.[5]
  • According to their in-game filenames, Gizmo and Stripe were originally supposed to be a duo character.
    • This is made evident in their special attacks, which closely mirror each other.
  • In the Open Beta, Gizmo used to be classified as a Support Fighter, a class which was removed in the Full Launch.
