LeBron Raymone James Sr. is a Fighter from the Space Jam Universe in MultiVersus. He was revealed on July 22nd, 2022 at San Diego Comic Con and was released on July 26th, 2022 alongside the public release of the Open Beta.

Origin

LeBron Raymone James Sr. (born December 30, 1984) is a real life American basketball player who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers and the NBA. The version of LeBron that appears in MultiVersus is based on his fictional counterpart from the 2021 animated/live-action hybrid movie Space Jam: A New Legacy. In said movie, LeBron and his in-universe son, Dom James, get invited to the Warner Bros. Studios in order for LeBron to become a movie star for them, but LeBron refuses, which angers the malicious algorithm A.I. Al-G Rhythm, who kidnaps Dom and sends LeBron to the Looney Tunes planet from the Server-verse, where he meets Bugs Bunny, and, together, they go on a crusade to recruit various other Looney Tunes in order to reform the Tune Squad from the original 1996 Space Jam movie and challenge Al-G to a basketball match in order to save Dom, the Looney Tunes, and the entire world.

Official Biography

Website

Overcoming the odds and empowering his allies is a way of life for LeBron James, winning multiple NBA titles, MVPs and Olympic Gold medals while being known as the ultimate teammate around the world. However, even one of the best players in NBA history couldn't anticipate the consequences of turning down the egocentric AI “Al-G Rhythm.” Thrown on a world-hopping adventure through the “Server-verse,” LeBron teamed up with Bugs Bunny to lead the legendary Tune Squad to save his son from Al-G in the ultimate Space Jam. Now, facing a new threat, LeBron looks to use his world-class playmaking skills to help his new friends defend their worlds.[1]

In-Game

A fast-moving bruiser with the ability to control the battlefield from afar, LeBron has left the Serververse ad entered the Multiverse! As the leader of the Tune Squad, he's also got the power to amp up his teammates with his weapon of choice: His basketball, duh.

Default Variant

LeBron James' default look seems to be a hybrid between LeBron's live-action and "Looney Tunes"-styled designs from Space Jam: A New Legacy, while wearing his Tune Squad attire.

Lore

  • According to Eric Stirpē, the main lead writer for MultiVersus, LeBron's portrayal in the game comes from two days after the events of Space Jam: A New Legacy happened.[2]
  • LeBron's website bio implies that he joined forces with the other Fighters in order to save their worlds from a "new threat" (possibly The Nothing).
