Thomas Jasper "Tom" Cat, Sr. and Gerald Jinx "Jerry" Mouse, commonly referred to as Tom Cat & Jerry Mouse or just Tom & Jerry, are a duo Fighter from the Tom and Jerry Universe in MultiVersus. They were revealed alongside the game itself on November 18th, 2021, and are part of the game's initial release roster, having been playable since the first Tech Test.


Tom & Jerry are the titular protagonists of the Tom and Jerry franchise. The famous cat-and-mouse duo were created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbara at MGM during the 1940s, and they were specifically designed to be rivals to one-another: Tom is an intelligent anthropomorphic cat who mainly wants to chase Jerry due to his job as a domestic feline, while Jerry is a carefree and cheeky anthropomorphic mouse who likes teasing the former and stealing food from Tom's owners' fridge. Despite this, there have been a few times where the two actually seemed to get along and like each other, earning them the title of frenemies.

Official Biography

When these frenemies put aside their differences, their zany mayhem can be unstoppable.


Ever since they first laid eyes on each other, Tom and Jerry have had a complicated relationship. As a housecat and a mouse they should be mortal enemies, but the two have nonetheless teamed up many times over the years. Like many “toons,” Tom & Jerry fight with a zany, madcap style and display nearly indestructible levels of durability. They’ll be great champions to have in the battle against the Nothing so long as they can stop fighting each other long enough to do it.[1]


Tom will go to any lengths to try and get his mousey nemesis. Learning to use that to your advantage will let you surprise your opponents with all sorts of unexpected attacks!

Default Variant

Tom & Jerry's default look is based on their late 40s/early 50s designs, which became the basis for most of their modern depictions in Tom and Jerry media.

Tom slides forward in an attempt to catch Jerry.
Tom CHARGES a swing with a tennis racket that can REFLECT.
Same as ground.

A COMBO of swings with a large mallet.
Two fast swipes forward.

CHARGE an attack where Tom uses a paddle ball above his head. The longer you CHARGE, the more bounces the paddle ball makes. You can move side to side during the attack.
Tom slams trash can lids above his head. The hit is strongest where the lids collide.

CHARGE a pounce attack forward that BREAKS ARMOR. CHARGING increases the distance of the pounce.
Tom swings his frying pan downward.

Tom aims and fires Jerry as a PROJECTILE. If Jerry is away, Tom will shoot a tennis ball PROJECTILE towards Jerry. Tennis balls gain power if REFLECTED by Tom's tennis racket. Tom can be fire multiple tennis balls until out of AMMO.

Tom will cast forward with a fishing pole. The fishing lure PROJECTILE will stay out until you release the input or the lure hits an enemy while traveling. The lure hits enemies when reeled in. The lure has a SWEETSPOT after its been out for a while.

Tom straps Jerry to a rocket PROJECTILE. The rocket can be steered. If Jerry is not with Tom, then Tom launches a rocket that locks onto Jerry. COOLDOWN applies.
Similar to ground, but Tom launches up slightly, and Jerry moves in an arc instead of being aimed.

Tom will place a mouse trap PROJECTILE on the ground. COOLDOWN applies.
Tom drops a stick of dynamite PROJECTILE that will explode on its second bounce or if it hits an enemy. The dynamite gains power if REFLECTED by Tom's tennis racket. Tom can drop multiple sticks until out of AMMO.

When Jerry is separated from Tom he will remain in place on the map. Enemies can attack Jerry to deal damage, and if Jerry takes enough damage he will be removed from the map for a COOLDOWN. If one of Tom's allies picks up Jerry, they will become STRENGTHENED, increasing the DAMAGE they deal, and briefly HASTENED, increasing their speed. While holding Jerry, allies that take damage will pass a portion of that damage to Jerry. Tom can pick up Jerry to refresh Jerry's health.
While separated, if Tom uses Grounded Neutral Normal, Jerry will shoot a cork towards Tom. Any other Normal attack will have Jerry shoot a cork in the direction Tom is facing. Jerry can fire multiple corks until out of AMMO. An ally can pick up Jerry to increase his available AMMO to 5. Tom can pick up Jerry to refresh AMMO.

Open Beta V0

The goal of these changes are to bring some more risk to the really large reward Tom and Jerry have. Tom and Jerry didn’t have enough risks and his close range attacks were a bit too safe.

  • - Down Air Special: Dynamite ammo cooldown increased from 9s to 12s.
  • - Up Air Attack: Added additional whiff recovery.
  • - Down Air Attack: Hit box starts a bit later.
  • - Side Air Attack: Added additional whiff recovery.
  • Bug Fix: Jerry Slingshot from Aerial and Grounded Neutral Special will now trigger attack decay.

Closed Alpha, May 19th 2022

  • Tom & Jerry were a playable fighter in the Closed Alpha.

November 18th 2021

  • Tom & Jerry were revealed to be a playable duo fighter in MultiVersus.


  • Despite being credited as their voice actor, Eric Bauza mainly voices Jerry, providing only the whistles for Tom, as all of Tom's screams are actually William Hanna's recycled recordings from the original Tom and Jerry shorts.
    • In the Open Beta Gameplay Trailer, an unused Tom scream performed by Eric can be heard, implying that he was originally meant to be the duo's sole voice actor.[2]
