A non-playable character (or NPC) is a character that cannot be controlled by a player via any legitimate means. They fulfill various aesthetic and gameplay roles within MultiVersus.

Agent Agent.png The Matrix Sentient security/eradication programs created within The Source whose primary function is to eliminate anyone or anything that could potentially reveal the truth of the Matrix to its inhabitants or cause harm to its system. An Agent appears in Agent Smith's moveset.
Amethyst Amethyst Map.png Steven Universe A Quartz Gem who serves as a member of the Crystal Gems. Her hand can be seen on the Sky Arena maps, and she also appears in the form of a "toy car" in Garnet's Tiny Car Taunt.
Armagheadon Armagheadon.png Rick and Morty The leader of the Cromulons, the "god" worshipped by the Headism cult, and the host of the intergalactic TV reality show "Planet Music". He appears in the background of the Cromulons map.
Armothy Armothy.png Rick and Morty The muscle memory of a deceased woodcutter who lived in the Post-Apocalyptic Dimension, and would later become a gigantic, sentient arm for Morty. He appears in Morty's moveset and Listening Taunt.
ACME Sky Drones ACME Sky Drone.png Looney Tunes Robotic sky drones carrying dynamite sticks which were created by the ACME Corporation. They appear as enemies in the PvE Rifts mode.
Batcomputer Batcomputer.png DC Batman's advanced computer hardware system. It appears in the background of the Batcave map.
Batman's T-Rex Batman's T-Rex.png DC A dinosaur animatronic that was created as part of the Dinosaur Island theme-park, and would later be gifted to Batman following his defeat of the criminal hacker Stephen Chase. It appears in the background of the Batcave map.
Bats Bats.png DC Animals that are frequently found in the company of Batman, serving as the inspiration for his persona. They appear as a background cameo and hazard on the Batcave map, as well as a visual effect on Batman's Grounded Down Attack, Crime Sweeper.
BMO AP BMO.png Adventure Time Finn and Jake's video game console/robot hybrid friend. They appear as part of Finn's moveset and as an announcer.
Bug Bug.png The Matrix Robotic probes used by the Machines to track a Bluepill's location in the Matrix. A Bug appears in Agent Smith's moveset.
Caveman Caveman.png Scooby-Doo The monster alter-ego of Professor Wayne. He appears in the background of the Scooby's Haunted Mansion maps, frozen in a block of ice.
Choose Goose Choose Goose.png Adventure Time A talking goose who works as a merchant and talks in rhymes in the Land of Ooo. Appears in Finn's moveset.
Cromulons CromulonsNPC.png Rick and Morty A species of planet-sized floating heads ruled by Armagheadon. They appear in the background of the map bearing their name.
Dee Dee Dee Dee in-game.png Dexter's Laboratory Dexter's older troublesome sister. She appears in the background of the Dexter's Laboratory maps.
Default Announcer Default Announcer FULL.png MultiVersus Original character that acts as the the game's main host. His voice can be replaced with that of another character via Announcer Packs.
Dexter Placeholder.png Dexter's Laboratory Boy genius and main character of Dexter's Laboratory. He's implied to be piloting the Robo-Dexo 2000 during its boss fight.
Ghosts Ghost Neutral.png MultiVersus Generic enemies in the PvE Rifts Mode.
Green Ghost ScoobyGreenGhost.png Scooby-Doo The monster alter-ego of Cosgood Creeps and Cuthbert Crawls. He appears in the background of the Scooby's Haunted Mansion maps.
Gremlins Gremlins NPC.png Gremlins The titular antagonists of the Gremlins franchise. They have appeared in Stripe's reveal trailer, but have yet to make a physical appearance in-game. They have also been referenced via multiple Stripes in the MultiVersus x NHL Face-Off: Avalanche Vs. Golden Knights real-time animated presentation and in Stripe's boss fight.
Hammerhead Morty Hammerhead Morty.png Rick and Morty An alternative version of Morty in which he is a hammer. He appears as part of Morty's moveset.
HIM HIM.png The Powerpuff Girls A powerful, flamboyant demon who acts as the king of all other demons, devils, and darkness itself. His face can occasionally manifest on the clock tower seen in the background of The City of Townsville map.
Joker Fish Joker Fish.png DC Figh mutated by The Joker's Joker Venom. One of them appears in The Joker's moveset, while several others also appear as "enemies" in various Nodes from the PvE Rifts mode, including Joker's boss fight.
Lady Rainicorn Lady Rainicorn Announcer Pack.png Adventure Time Jake's fiancée and Princess Bubblegum's loyal stead. She appears in the background of the Tree Fort maps and as an announcer.
Mojo Jojo Mojo Jojo.png The Powerpuff Girls A villainous and intelligent chimpanzee who is constantly plotting to take over the world and destroy The Powerpuff Girls. He appears as a hazard on The City of Townsville map, piloting a flying saucer.
Monkey Monki.png Dexter's Laboratory Dexter's lab pet monkey and secret superhero. He appears in the background of the Dexter's Laboratory maps, inside a test tube.
Mr. Meeseeks MrMeeseeks.png Rick and Morty Blue humanoid creatures summoned by an item called the Meeseeks Box, designed to grant a single simple task for their master before disappearing. They mainly appear as part of Rick's moveset, and also cameo in his and Evil Morty's victory animations. They also appear as training dummies in the Tutorial Rift, and a golf club-wielding Meeseeks also appears in Golf-themed Nodes, where the player can control the direction of the ball launched by him. In the Open Beta, up to 3 Mr. Meeseeks could've also been spawned by the Meeseeks Box item.
Ms. Bellum Ms. Bellum.png The Powerpuff Girls The Mayor of Townsville's loyal secretary and deputy. She can be seen walking inside the Townsville Hall on The City of Townsville map.
N.E.P.T.R. NEPTR.png Adventure Time A pie-throwing robot created by Finn who gained sentience upon getting hit by a lighting bolt. He used to appear as an Assistant in the Open Beta, but, due to the removal of the TV item, he's currently missing in the full release.
Narrator NarratorRift.png Friday the 13th The Narrator who appeared in the various trailers for the Friday the 13th movies. He appears as an NPC in the PvE Rifts mode, narrating before or after most Nodes that feature Jason Voorhees.
Old Man Jenkins OldManJenkins.png Scooby-Doo The creator of Charlie the Robot and one of the caretakers of the Funland. He cameos in Velma's Snoopin' Passive Ability.
Space Cruiser Space Cruiser.png Rick and Morty Rick's interdisciplinary spaceship vehicle, equipped with an Auto-Pilot AI. It appears in Morty's moveset.
Space Snakes Space Snake.png Rick and Morty Snakes from an alien planet. Two of them appear in Morty's moveset.
Quadraplex T-3000 Computer Quadraplex T-3000 Computer.png Dexter's Laboratory Dexter's lab computer equipped with a female AI voice. It appears in the background of the Dexter's Laboratory maps, and as an enemy in the Techno Terror Rift.
Robo-Dexo 2000 Robo-Dexo 2000.png Dexter's Laboratory Dexter's giant fighting robot. It appears in the background of the Dexter's Laboratory maps, and as a boss fight.
Robot Drones Drone.png MultiVersus Generic enemies (and occasional allies) in the PvE Rifts Mode.
Scooby-Doo Scooby-Doo NHL.png Scooby-Doo The mascot of Mystery Inc. and main character of his titular franchise. He was seen in the MultiVersus x NHL Face-Off: Avalanche Vs. Golden Knights real-time animated presentation, but has yet to make a physical appearance in-game. His laughter can be occasionally heard on the Scooby's Haunted Mansion maps as an ambiental noise.
Snail Snail.png Adventure Time A snail who makes secret cameos in almost every single episode of Adventure Time. He appears in the background of the Tree Fort maps.
The Nothing Placeholder.png MultiVersus The supposed main antagonist of the game's story. Has yet to make a physical appearance in-game.
Toasty Toastie in-game.png MultiVersus A small zoomorphic bread loaf, also known as Toastie. Appears as an ally (and occasional enemy) in the PvE Rifts mode.
Watermelon Stevens Watermelon Steven.png Steven Universe A species of sentient watermelons that were accidently created by Steven Universe. One of them appears in Steven's moveset, while several others appear as enemies in the PvE Rifts mode. A giant Watermelon Steven. known as Melonhead, also appears as a boss fight.
White Kitty White Kitty.png The Powerpuff Girls A secret evil genius who can hypnotize people to do his biding. He appears in the background of The City of Townsville map.
Yakko Warner Yakko Train.png Animaniacs The oldest brother of the Warner siblings. He appears in the background of the Water Tower map, operating a small locomotive.
