Watermelon Stevens
The Watermelon Stevens are a group of non-playable characters in MultiVersus.
Origin
The Watermelon Stevens are a species of sentient watermelons that were accidently created by Steven Universe in the titular episode "Watermelon Steven". Since then, they have appeared regularly as both antagonists and supporting characters in the show.

Role in MultiVersus
- AS A MOVESET CHARACTER
A Watermelon Steven appears as part of Steven's Down Special. Steven will plant a watermelon that heals nearby allies for a short time before the watermelon transforms into a Watermelon Steven that serves as a temporal secondary ally in battle.
- AS ENEMIES
Multiple Watermelon Stevens appear as enemies in the Rifts Mode. They attack and play just as they do as part of Steven's moveset.
If the Mutator "Summer Snack" is active on a Node, non-hostile Watermelon Stevens will continuously spawn with the goal of defeating as many as possible before time runs out.
- AS A BOSS
A giant watermelon Steven (nicknamed "Melonhead" by its Mutator) appears as the Boss in the Surf's Up! Rift. Like the enemies, they act the same as they would as part of Steven's moveset, only with its size increased. However, they do have an extra attack, where they spin and shoot seeds on both sides of itself. At higher difficulties, Watermelons may spawn from their attacks, which will spawn more Watermelon Stevens. It is fought on the Trophy's E.D.G.E. (1v1) Map.
Melonhead is rematched in the Triple Threat Rift. This time, the Mutator "Melonheads" summons two Melonheads with separate health bars.
Trivia
- Watermelon Stevens mistakenly reuse Steven Universe's grunts, in spite of them being meant to be mute.
- Thanks to an unknown bug, the spawnable Watermelon Steven will always show up in his Blue Team color instead of his default one when Team Colors are turned off.
- Strangely enough, this glitch wasn't present in the Closed Alpha.
- The Watermelon Stevens' design got changed in the Full Launch from how they looked like in the Open Beta, as they used to sport little mouths and different eyes, more akin to their original appearance in Steven Universe.
