Make It Rein-Dog

Make It Rein-Dog was an official Player First Games-hosted bi-weekly MultiVersus Tournament Series that began on October 14th, 2022. The series was only hosted throughout the game's Open Beta period.

A new Bi-Weekly has arrived alternating between both duos and singles! This tournament series will be region locked to North America ONLY A LAN CONNECTION IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED FOR PARTICIPATION! Dates & Times for Future Events Are Subject to Change.

Rules
Full ruleset
Entrant Cap:
- 128 Players (64 Teams)
Reg & Format:
- Registration for this event is non-transferrable. Entrance to the tournament is first-come first-serve. If you miss out on participation, please try again the following week
- Registration will go live Thursday, October 6th at 3:00 PM PST
- All tournament sets will be Best of 3 until Top 8, at which point they will become Best of 5
DQ Timers:
- If your opponent does not show up for 10 minutes after checking in, use the "Call Moderator" function on smash.gg and a TO will be along to assess the situation. If they are delaying bracket, they will be disqualified.
Rule Settings:
- Ruleset: EVO Rules. All characters legal except Stripe are legal.
- Format: Double Elimination Match: Best of Three (3) until Top 8 Matches occurring in the Top 8 will be Best of Five (5) games
- Timer: Default
- Stage Hazards: On
- Duplicate characters per team are NOT allowed
- Perks: All are legal
First Game Procedure
- Team 1 selects one of their characters
- Team 2 selects both of their characters
- Team 1 selects their final character and the perks for the final character
- Team 2 selects the perks for both of their characters
- Team 1 selects the perks for the first character they picked
- Team 2 strikes one map from the list of available maps
- Team 1 strikes one map from the list of available maps
- Repeat steps 6 & 7 until one map remains. Game 1 will be played on the last available map.
Proceeding Match Procedure
- The following steps outline the process of playing a Match.
- The team that won the previous game may elect to change characters.
- The team that lost the previous game may elect to change characters.
- The team that won the previous game may elect to change perks.
- The team that lost the previous game may elect to change perks.
- The team that won the previous game can ban up to 2 maps from being selected for the next game.
- The team that lost the previous game selects the map for the next game. The losing team may not select the map that they have most recently won during this Match (known colloquially as Dave’s Stupid Rule).
- The next Game is played.
Repeat steps 5-11 for all subsequent Games until the Match is complete. Additional Notes The losing AND winning team of the preceding Match may choose to change characters and/or perks. If they choose to change their characters, the winning team must choose their characters first.
Connection:
- If you are having issues with your game where you're experiencing lag call for an Admin.
- Both teams will be required to provide bufferbloat screenshots with a time stamp in the case of a connection dispute.
- The Admins will then determine whether it is a server issue or connection issue & have the right to DQ any given team based on documented connection status.
Update
- It has come to our attention that Velma's Mystery Machine is bugged where the van becomes invulnerable and won't take damage. We will ban the move due to there not being any way to save a teammate caught in it.
Schedule (Times in PST)
- Registration will close the night before the tournament at 11PM PST
- Pools: 02:00 PM
- All phases of bracket will continue immediately after one is complete.

Make It Rein-Dog will have the following Prize Breakdown (Prizes will be split evenly between each member of a team, unless otherwise specified):

- 2nd Place: $175
