Evolution Championship Series

The Evolution Championship Series, commonly known as EVO, is an annual esports event that focuses exclusively on fighting games. The tournaments are completely open and use the double elimination format. It has been held at various venues across the Las Vegas Valley since 2005. As of 2021, the event is jointly owned by Sony Interactive Entertainment and the Endeavor esports venture RTS via E-Sports Evolution, LLC.
History
2022
While not part of the main tournament itself, Player First Games and Warner Bros. Games did host a separate MultiVersus 2v2 tournament at the EVO 2022 event that featured 32 teams battling it out for the grand prize of one hundred thousand dollars and the Exclusive ASTRO Gaming Merchandise. Exclusive EVO 2022 cosmetics were also handed over to both participants and viewers of the tournament alike.
2024
While no MultiVersus tournament was hosted this year, Samurai Jack, Beetlejuice, & the return of the Ranked Mode were all revealed to be a part of Season 2 during a small presentation hosted by Tony Huynh and AJAX before the Mortal Kombat 1 Top 6 tourney. New Class Breakdown cards based on the Season 1 newcomers were also given out to people who visited the Mortal Kombat booth at the event.
