Beginner Tutorial is an available game mode in MultiVersus.

About

Beginner Tutorial is a practice game mode that, as its name implies, serves as a tutorial for beginner players to teach them the basic mechanics of MultiVersus. Clearing it for the first time will reward the player with Shaggy (Wonder Woman prior to the Season 1.03 Patch). This mode can be accessed and replayed in the main menu.

Air Dodges

When in the air, you can perform Dodges in any direction. You can do two Air Dodges without touching the ground.

Objectives:

  • Air Dodge (3 Times)

Attacks

Attacks are the staples of your brawling toolkit.

Objectives:

  • Neutral Ground Attack (1 Time)
  • Forward Ground Attack (1 Time)
  • Up Ground Attack (1 Time)
  • Down Ground Attack (1 Time)

Specials

Your character also has Specials. These are powerful abilities for situational use.

  • Neutral Ground Special (1 Time)
  • Forward Ground Special (1 Time)
  • Up Ground Special (1 Time)
  • Down Ground Special (1 Time)

Air Moves

Now let's go over Attacks and Specials in the air.

  • Neutral Air Attack (1 Time)
  • Forward Air Attack (1 Time)
  • Up Air Attack (1 Time)
  • Down Air Attack (1 Time)
  • Neutral Air Special (1 Time)
  • Forward Air Special (1 Time)
  • Up Air Special (1 Time)
  • Down Air Special (1 Time)

Combat

Knocking opponents off the screen is the key to victory.

Objectives:

  • Try out what you've learned and knock Wonder Woman off the screen.

Damage

Below each character is a number indicating how much damage they've taken. The higher Damage Number, the farther that character will be knocked back when hit.

Objectives:

  • Knock Wonder Woman off the screen. Notice how much farther she is knocked back due to her high Damage Number.

Combo Attacks

Combo Attacks can be repeated to execute a unique string of Attacks. Try using your Combo Attack multiple times in a row.

Objectives:

  • Attack Combo (6 Times)

Charge Attacks

Charging up Attacks makes them more powerful. You can identify a Charge Attack by the circular meter that appears when using them.

Objectives:

  • Press and hold the Attack button to charge your Neutral, Up, or Down Attacks. (3 Times)

Unique Specials

Some Specials have unique properties. Shaggy's Neutral Special can be charged.

Objectives:

  • Press and hold your Neutral Special to enrage! (1 Time)
  • Do an enraged Special! (1 Time)

Shaggy's Ground Down Special picks up a sandwich that can be thrown.

Objectives:

  • Pick up a Sandwich with Shaggy's Ground Down Special. (1 Time)
  • Throw the sandwich! (1 Time)

Attack Decay

When an attack is used too often in succession, it incurs Attack Decay, reducing its Hitstun and Damage.

Objectives:

  • Hit Wonder Woman with the same attack multiple times in a row to incur attack decay. Once incurred, continue to hit Wonder Woman with 4 decayed attacks. (4 Times)

It's much harder to Ring Out enemies using decayed attacks, so try and use a variety of moves when fighting. Notice the weaker Hitstun and Damage between the decayed attack on the left compared to the right.

Objectives:

  • Hit Wonder Woman with 10 undecayed attacks. (10 Times)

Practice

Well done! Let's practice what you've learned in combat!

Objectives:

  • Knock Wonder Woman off the screen to complete this Tutorial!
