The Spectator Mode Patch are patch notes that were released on December 19th, 2022 for MultiVersus.

Overall patch summary

Spectator Mode

  • New updates to the Custom Game Mode allows for spectating now!
  • Spectate matches with up to 4 friends!
  • You can now spectate bots matches to see which bot will win!

General

  • Fixed a bug where character-based ringout Badges were capped at 18.
  • Fixed a bug that was causing Black-Adam-based-bot's AI to ring themselves out.
  • Fixed a bug causing the Game of Thrones: Throne Room Map's transformation animations to not play when playing online.

Batman

Developer's Note: We have plans to allow for more combo routes on Batman from his jab combo, but those updates will come in the next patch.

  • + Ground Side Attack 2:
    • Jab 2 can now cancel into jump 2 frames earlier.
  • - Ground/Air Side Special: Now has 2 ammo with one returning every 9 seconds.
    • Explosion: Re-enabled on Signature Precision Grapple Perk.
    • Note: With the addition of the ammo and cooldown we've re-enabled the explosion and will continue to evaluate.

Black Adam (Man in Black)

  • ! Fixed an issue where many of the skin's voiceover lines were not playing.

Gizmo

  • ! Ground Down Special:
    • Fixed a bug that was causing Gizmo's box to render some of the time

Harley Quinn

  • ! Air/Ground Neutral Special:
    • Fixed a bug that allowed Harley's Bat Doll Bomb to act like a wall that would reset Harley's air options.

Jake

Developer's Note: In the future, we'll be looking to add additional counterplay to the Jake's Air Down Special and Skateboard Combo. However, because of the short turnaround time of this patch we weren't able to address these issues at this point in time.

  • - Weight
    • Reduced to 59, down from 69.
      • For the time being, this change is currently an online-only change. An offline change that reflects this adjustment will come in a future patch.
  • ! Ground Up Attack
    • Fixed a bug where Jake's arm would not extend.
  • - Air Neutral Attack
    • Reduced hitbox size by 10%.
    • Delayed the start of this move's active hit frames by 4 frames.
  • - Air Down Special
    • Reduced hitbox size by 20%.
      • For the time being, this change is currently an online-only change. An offline change that reflects this adjustment will come in a future patch.

Morty

We're looking at pushing Morty more towards a Bruiser, but the changes could not get in for this patch. The goal is to have Morty have more of a combo-game, while reducing a bit of his projectile utility.

Steven

  • ! Neutral Air Attack
    • Fixed a bug that was causing Steven's Neutral Air Attack to get stuck and rapidly repeat the attack infinitely.

Superman

  • ~ Ground Down Attack: Knockback angle increased to be a bit more upwards.
    • For the time being, this change is currently an online-only change. An offline change that reflects this adjustment will come in a future patch.

Wonder Woman

  • ~ Weight:
    • Weight reduced to 66, down from 71.
  • ! Ground Up Special
    • Fixed an issue causing players to be stuck in Wonder Woman's Ground Up Special for an elongated period of time.
